Lockheed - L-1011-500

Launched in August 1976, the L-1011-500 was designed as a longer range, reduced capacity version of the -200. Changes from the -200 include a 13 ft. 6 in. / 4.11 m fuselage reduction, more powerful engines, increased wing span and increased takeoff weights. To accommodate the increased weights, the body-to-wing fairing was also updated, giving a more blunt or stubby appearance.
