Low-fare subsidiary of Qantas Airways, Australia's principal airline, serving the leisure traveler with frequent services from Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Jetstar was formed in November 2003 out of regional carrier Impluse Airlines, which was operating under the QantasLink brand. Service were launched on 25 May 2004 with a fleet of 14 Boeing 717-200s. Qantas also has stakes in sister companies Jetstar Asia and Valueair in Singapore and Jetstar Pacific Airlines in Vietnam.
