Embraer 170

Launched in 1999, the Embraer 170 represents a bold foray into the 70-120 passenger range of commercial transports. Unlike its competitors, the Embraer 170 (and its larger siblings, the Embraer 175/190/195) is designed to meet the needs of both regional and mainline airline markets. The 170 is designed to be easily serviced from the ground, facilitating the quick turnaround often necessary for regional service.

Variants of the Embraer include the 78-86 passenger 175, 98-108 passenger 190 and 108-118 passenger 195. Long-range versions of each variant are also available. Commonality between the 170-175 and 190-195 is approximately 95%. Commonality between the 170 series and 190 series is about 89%, due primarily to the new wing and engines for the larger 190 and 195.
