Tupolev Tu-154 "Careless"

Developed to replace the turbojet powered Tupolev Tu-104 and the turboprop An10 and Il-18, the Tu-154 is a derivative of the Tu-134 with a third engine added at the root of tailfin. One example of the familial resemblance are the slightly anhedral (downward drooping) wings. First revenue service was flown on 9 February 1972, after which the Tu-154 became the standard medium range airliner in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe.
