Established by Rollin King and Herb Kelleher on 15th March 1967 as Air Southwest and had to overcome several legal hurdles before being able to start services under the present name on 18th June 1971.
Southwest Airlines is a leading U.S. low-fare airline operating high-frequency point-to-point passenger services linking some 60 major and secondary cities in United States. It has been regarded as the pioneer of low-fare services and its operation has been copied elsewhere around the world.
